Meet The Team: Introducing Graeme Wattie
Graeme Wattie is the Co-Founder and Commercial Director of Solvehop, based in San Diego, United States, after relocating from Sydney, Australia. His background spans senior roles in operations, partnerships, and business development across a variety of technology-led businesses. He has driven growth for e-commerce brands, multinational on-demand apps, and marketplaces, and most recently worked at a global website and integrations agency. Graeme brings a strategic, partnership-driven approach to every project. When he’s not working on Solvehop’s growth, you’ll find him surfing, hiking and snowboarding in the mountains, and, more recently, trout fishing.
Since founding Solvehop, Graeme has focused on building ethical, strategically planned solutions and services that deliver real business outcomes. Working closely with his technical co-founder and a talented team of specialists, he helps merchants and organisations navigate complex challenges in e-commerce, digital design, and accessibility.
Graeme brings a friendly and collaborative approach to every partnership, with a reputation for focusing on what will deliver the best long-term result for clients. His ability to balance commercial goals with technical feasibility and user needs is a big part of what clients value when working with Solvehop.
Let’s Get to Know Graeme:
What drew you to start Solvehop and offer digital solutions?
In my last role, I noticed significant gaps in how digital solutions were being delivered—opportunities to drive better outcomes for clients, teams, and business goals. After speaking with a mentor and trusted ex-clients, my instincts were reinforced with sound advice before taking the leap to start my own company. The timing was also right: I was relocating from Australia to the US and going through the US green card process, which gave me the space to sit down with my co-founder and plan how this business could take shape. Today, I’m proud to have built a company on ethical values and strategic planning. We’re excited to help shape the digital world with our clients, and we have ambitious goals that will keep us busy and motivated.
How has your past experience shaped the way you approach building partnerships today?
I’ve worked across a wide spectrum of businesses—senior roles for a large Australian e-commerce merchant, heading up business development for an on-demand service app, driving partnerships and growth for a service-based marketplace, and, more recently, diving deeper into system integrations and website builds. Throughout all of this, I’ve leaned on my operations background to understand real-world outcomes and pivoted toward partnerships to drive growth. Working with partners to achieve shared goals is what I’ve come to enjoy most in my day-to-day, and I hope that resonates with the partners I work with.
How do you see accessibility and WCAG compliance fitting into the solutions Solvehop delivers?
It’s a natural fit for us. Firstly, my co-founder is an expert in this field, having been trained by industry veterans in accessibility for many years. Secondly, it’s our mission to build amazing new systems and digital experiences, and that starts with usability, inclusion, and ethics. Accessibility serves two purposes: greater human inclusion, and improved digital structure so that Google, AI, and machines can access and read content accurately—which leads to overall performance improvements. And it’s always good to do something that helps the wider community; it simply feels right.
What excites you most about the current state of e-commerce and cross-border shipping technology?
E-commerce is an interesting space—it’s highly competitive and commercially driven, with merchants, platforms, and solutions all vying for market share or at least visibility in a big ocean. For us, it comes back to our core values: how do we make a positive impact on digital trade, what are the best business cases for a solution rather than chasing hype, and how do we improve not only efficiency but also design?
When you’re not working on integrations or business development, what outdoor activities help you recharge?
Some days are super long on the screen, so when I close my laptop and get outside, I spend a lot of my time surfing, a bit of tennis for social sport, and hiking in the mountains to clear my mind and enjoy nature. And often you’ll find me at the local bar enjoying downtime with friends and the local community.
What do you value most about the Solvehop team and the collaborative way you work with your technical colleagues?
In a word: integrity. We’re lucky to have onboarded talented staff and contractors with excellent expertise. Each person is good in their role, but, equally important, they share our values and culture and genuinely care about our client outcomes. The technical knowledge sits firmly with my team. We don’t overcommit—we stick to what we do best, which is solving problems. Having an exceptional team I can lean on like this helps me provide that same level of confidence to our clients.
